Turkish website hackers are on rampange defacing government and media websites in developing countries. The latest casuality in the Kampala dispatch (a newsletter) that has its entire website defaced by a turkish hacker. The words complete with a turkish flag currently posted on the website are:
BY iSKORPiTX;
(TURKISH HACKER)
dünya markası asla taklit edilemez
tek kişilik dev kadro
web security cd dağıtımı devam ediyor
BİZ BU İŞLERDE YÜKSEK LİSANS YAPTIK!!
BU ALEMİN KRALI BİZİZ!!
The first casuality to draw the attention of turkish hackers to our territory was the ease with which the website of the ministry of defence of Uganda was attacked early this year, with attackers posting anti-Israel statements. The website is yet to come online again since it was attacked.
Website security being expensive to implement and always not taken as a issue of paramount importance during the website planning process, many hackers will continually find it easy to hack important government websites. Unless the website designers wake up to the realities of implementing Internet and website security techniques, this may well be the beginning of a mass attack on websites in Africa.
