It doesn’t astound me any more that rebels are stilla active in such places as the DR Congo; that it doesn’t astound me anymore is what is so sad about the tragedies these people repeatedly endure.

I wish that these countries’ governments were more active in disrupting and preventing such activity. I wish that the national populace cared more so that more aid would be sent. And I wish that the UN could be more forceful. That’s a lot of wishing in vain.

Hi Dianna,

you definitely no different from the people themselves who have to endure the suffering whenever it comes.

the population in this part of the country is very much used to conflict being that it is the most mineral rich endowed area. It is so far apart from the kinshasha government and every one wants a piece of the gold, diamond, timber etc.

the un is very much active in this area but its amazing that they only sit back and watch all the suffering. at least they would recommend more aid or prevent such killings from taking place but all they are doing is ”observing”

it’s not astounding anymore like you say, when killings take place in africa. Hundreds or thousands of killings take place, most of them unreported infront of the un forces and all they can is ”we are observing peace” or their blah blah language!

thanks for dropping by Dianne.
